Tanushree Dutta Breaks Silence: Emotional Plea Over Harassment in Her Own Home
Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta, who is widely recognized for igniting the #MeToo movement in India, has recently come forward with a distressing plea for help, sharing an emotional video on social media where she reveals being subjected to harassment at her own residence over several years.
In a video posted on July 22, 2025, Tanushree is seen visibly upset and tearful, describing how the harassment has taken a severe toll on her physical and mental health. She explains that the ordeal has persisted since 2018, making it difficult for her to carry out work or maintain her household. Due to mistrust caused by previous incidents, she has been unable to employ domestic help, recounting experiences where maids were found to be stealing from her home and even suspected to be planted by those harassing her. The actress expressed a profound sense of helplessness: "I'm sick and tired of this harassment!! It's been going on since 2018 #metoo Aaj fed up hokar maine police ko call kiya (I reached out to the police today as I was fed up of all this). Please someone help me. Do something before it's too late," she captioned the video.
Following her call to the police, authorities have advised her to come to the police station to file an official complaint, which she indicated she would do imminently despite not being in good health. She stated, "I am being harassed in my own house. Mujhe mere hi ghar mein pareshaan kiya jaa raha hai. I just called the cops. They came and asked me to come to the police station to launch a proper complaint. I will probably go tomorrow or day after. I am not well."
Tanushree's revelations have raised concerns among her fans and the Bollywood community, highlighting ongoing challenges faced by survivors of harassment. The actress, born in Jamshedpur and crowned Miss India in 2003, rose to fame with films like Aashiq Banaya Apne and became a pivotal figure in Bollywood's #MeToo reckoning. Despite her longstanding struggle against such adversities, her recent disclosures spotlight the continuing difficulties that some survivors endure even years after bringing issues to light.
The distressing situation underscores the pervasive impact of harassment, emphasizing the need for supportive mechanisms not only publicly but also in personal spaces. Given the severity of the allegations and TanushreeтАЩs request for urgent intervention, this case is currently attracting attention from law enforcement and the public alike.
