Evin Lewis Shines as West Indies Battle Pakistan in Thrilling ODI Series

West Indies opener Evin Lewis has made a strong comeback in international cricket, contributing significantly in the ongoing ODI series against Pakistan. After recovering from a lengthy injury layoff earlier this year, Lewis has returned to full fitness and re-entered the West Indies squad, opening the batting alongside Brandon King.

On August 8, 2025, at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, Lewis played a pivotal innings in the 1st ODI against Pakistan, scoring 60 runs off 62 balls. His innings featured an aggressive mix of five boundaries and three sixes. This knock marked his 12th fifty in One Day Internationals, further solidifying his role as a key batsman for the West Indies. Despite his efforts, West Indies were bundled out for 280 runs and narrowly lost the match to Pakistan by five wickets in a closely contested game.

During his innings, Lewis shared a 77-run partnership with Keacy Carty, stabilizing the West Indies after an early loss of wicket. His fifty was notable not only for the runs but also for the timing and ability to accelerate, including a six to complete the milestone.
