WBJEE 2025 Result Declaration: Delays End Amidst Legal Hurdles, Results to Release Today

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) is set to announce the long-awaited WBJEE 2025 results on August 7, ending a delay of over three months caused by legal proceedings involving the state's revised list of Other Backward Classes (OBC) sub-castes.

The WBJEE 2025 examination was conducted on April 27, 2025, for admissions into undergraduate Engineering, Pharmacy, and Architecture programs in government and private institutions across West Bengal. The results were originally scheduled to be declared by June 5 but were postponed due to a contentious legal dispute involving updates to the OBC category list, which affected the merit-based ranking system.

WBJEEB Chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee stated in a press conference, "The examinations were held on April 27. By June 5, the results would have been announced. However, owing to the OBC matter, the result couldn't be released." The provisional answer key had been released on May 9, with a deadline for objections on May 11.

The delay was principally due to a Calcutta High Court order issued on June 17 that blocked the state's revised list of OBC sub-castes, thereby stalling the publication of results and the admission process. Following this, the Supreme Court of India intervened on July 28, vacating the High Court's stay order and allowing the WBJEEB to proceed with declaring the results while incorporating legally verified caste data.

Subsequently, the WBJEEB reopened its portal between July 31 and August 2 to permit candidates to upload or update their caste certificates, an essential step for the recalibration of category-based merit rankings.

While the date of result declaration has been officially confirmed as August 7, the Board has not disclosed the exact time of release. For reference, last year’s results were announced at 3 PM with the result link going live an hour later.

3. Enter your admit card or hall ticket number as requested.
