Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 Registration Closes Today at vbb.mic.gov.in: Empowering Young Innovators Across India

The nationwide registration for the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 closes today, October 6, 2025, on the official portal vbb.mic.gov.in. This initiative by the Ministry of Education, Atal Innovation Mission, and NITI Aayog invites students from Classes 6 to 12 across India to participate in a large-scale innovation program emphasizing national development themes.

Launched as a part of the vision aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Buildathon aims to promote hands-on, experiential learning and nurture creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among young learners. It also focuses on fostering Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance) and sustainable growth, with an expected participation from over one crore students representing more than 1.5 lakh schools nationwide.

Students participate in teams of five to seven members, collaborating to design projects and prototypes around four key themes:

• Atmanirbhar Bharat: Encouraging self-sustained and indigenous solutions.
• Swadeshi: Reviving traditional Indian wisdom and crafts.
• Vocal for Local: Promoting the use of local products and industries.
• Samriddhi: Pursuing inclusive and sustainable prosperity.

The Buildathon is structured to be inclusive, with a special emphasis on engaging students from Aspirational Districts, Tribal, and Remote Regions of India. Registrations are free and can be completed by submitting a project idea through the official website. Schools can register multiple teams to maximize participation.

The top 10,000 innovative entries will receive national recognition and have opportunities for mentorship and corporate adoption, further promoting a culture of innovation among India's youth. The event also enjoyed notable support, with Space Scientist and ISRO astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla serving as the Brand Ambassador for the Buildathon.
