Masked Attack on Elvish Yadav's Gurugram Residence Sparks Investigations

Elvish Yadav's Gurugram home was attacked early Aug 17 by three masked gunmen firing over 25 shots. The Bhau gang claimed responsibility citing betting app promotion. No casualties reported; police on

In the early hours of Sunday, August 17, 2025, the residence of prominent YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram's Sector 57 came under a violent attack. Around 5:30 AM, three masked assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire, discharging between 25 to 30 rounds at the building. Fortunately, Elvish Yadav was not at home at the time, as he was away for work.

CCTV footage released by authorities and media vividly captures the attack. The video shows the trio arriving on a bike, two stepping out to shoot at the first floor of the residence, with one even standing on the main gate while firing. After a brief pause—likely to reload—the shooters continued their assault before fleeing the scene.

The attack caused visible damage such as shattered glass and a damaged ceiling, but no casualties were reported. Elvish’s father, Ram Avtar Yadav, who was present at the residence during the incident, expressed confidence in the police investigation and confirmed that the family was safe.

The Gurugram Police responded swiftly, cordoning off the area, collecting forensic evidence, and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators. As per official statements, a thorough investigation is ongoing following the family's formal complaint.

Several hours after the attack, a social media claim of responsibility emerged from the notorious gang led by fugitive Himanshu Bhau, known as the Bhau gang. The group accused Elvish Yadav of promoting a betting app, blaming it for destroying households. This is consistent with the gang's reputation for violent intimidation. Police are investigating the veracity of this claim as part of their inquiry.

Elvish Yadav, aged 27, first rose to fame through his popular YouTube channel and subsequently gained wider public attention after winning Bigg Boss OTT 2 in 2023. He has a substantial online following and has been featured in various music videos and films. However, his career has not been without controversy. In 2024, he was embroiled in a high-profile case involving the alleged use and supply of cobra venom as a recreational drug at rave parties. While granted bail, the legal process remains ongoing.

This recent violent episode underscores the increasing security risks faced by digital influencers in India and raises concerns about the involvement of organized criminal groups in social media disputes or extortion attempts.
